Yesterday, for the first time in months, I heard the birds chirping. Yes...they were really talking it up! The sun was shining, it was a beautiful day, and, apparently, our feathered friends thought so, too. Although we see birds by the bunch flutter to our deck (for free peanuts) all day long, the "spring is coming" announcement "chirp chirp chirp" is something special. I had to pause (while taking out the recycling) and enjoy. And pause to enjoy some more.
No...these are not the chirping birds...they are project samples for my upcoming workshop Here Birdie Birdie. Aren't they adorable? I have a few spots left if you are in the mood for Spring! We'll both collage and solder...then add their DARLING little feet. If you'd like to come and play in my studio, click here.
But no matter what...as February turns into March...stop every now and again and listen. Chirp. It means...yes...Spring is on its way!

The Sally Jean Christmas Collection 2009 is NOW AVAILABLE!! Jingle-icious!

Thank you so much for a wonderful class!! I am so addicted to collage now and discovered when I came home that my hubby has a weller soldering iron!! I am looking forward to testing my new skills. I'll email you photos of my artwork. Great group of women and fantastic time.

Sally Jean!
Your work has inspired me for a long time and today I received my copy of your book! I am so excited I can hardly type... We've a bit in common... I live in upstate NY in an 1870s Gothic Revival house that I snatched from the brink of extinction 9 years ago...
I'm going to try my hand at soldering and all the rest...
thanks for the info I needed to get started and the challenge to measure up to your level of creativity.

I'm still thinking about the magical class I took at your studio last October! Do you have any pictures of the ooo la la lampshade? I'm thinking about taking that class!

Adorable! We're looking for signs of spring in Michigan, too. If you have any birdies that might want to fly east, we'd love to have some for the shop. Miss you! Mary
