Eye Candy - The Joy of Flicker

I am completely taken aback by the incredible talent of amateur photographers...the composition and lighting and content, oh, my! Just traveling through Flicker albums gives me great joy. It is sometimes the smallest of pleasures that tickles my fancy...the torn spine of an old book, granny's bowl of pearls, the budding tip of an orange blossom tree on the edge of spring. All of this is eye candy for me.
Here I offer you a peek into what I call EYE CANDY...according to the world of Flicker. Take a peek...join...save to your FAVES...and then visit Big Huge Labs to create your own personal mosaic (among other treats). You'll be hooked. Now, if I can just find a way to convince my hubby to move into that fixer upper in #10!

What a beautiful selection of photos!!! Just a word of warning...I was doing the same thing around St. Pattys Day..searching for cute green images. Then marked them as favorites and made a little mosaic which I had in my flickr area. Did not post on a blog or anything (because I didn't have time). Well, one of the people whose photo I used contacted me and wanted it removed because of copywrite infringement. YIKES!!! Well, that has now scared me and I am very careful about images I flag as favorites and try not to include them in any mosaics I create (or at least check to make sure that the owner doesn't have some blub on their site about copywrite stuff). I guess the owner of the photo got burned before, but it made me sad...especially when I would have given her credit. Oh well...lessons learned.

Yep, #10 looks a little like The Money Pit, but I completely understand. I love www.bighugelabs.com. I am addicted to making mosaics and more on it. Thanks for the e-mail. Look forward to meeting you in Hampton!

Wow! Photography is indeed an amazing invention, and as you said, so many people can turn it into eye-popping art. Good luck nabbing the fixer-upper!
Blessings,

Hi
I was wondering where I could get more information about your class in Bali in 2009 - I couldn't seem to find a contact link on the website so hope you don't mind me asking here.
Warmly

A jewel-box of imagery...I just love it. And your book...pure eye-candy (especially for us non-solderers). Thank you, you're an inspiration.
Best, Michele

Thank you for bringing me inspiration. I came across your book (going through my mother's things) and borrowed it from her. Now I won't give it back. You have inspired me to "get into" my art again! 2 paintings in one weekend (soon to be posted on my site). You are so wonderfully talented. Amber @ amberwestart.com
